Elizabeth Aiello, LCSW offers online and in-person therapy for teens, young adults and adults struggling and seeking support. Elizabeth creates a comfortable environment where clients can openly discuss their concerns and be heard. She believes the client is the expert on their life. Elizabeth feels privileged to be alongside her clients while they move toward their desired changes. Elizabeth specializes in issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and loss, identity formation, self doubt and conflict in relationships. Elizabeth is passionate about guiding individuals through major life transitions such as adolescence, college, emerging adulthood and parenthood.
Elizabeth has a culturally affirming and inclusive counseling approach. Her work is grounded in traditional psychotherapy with a holistic, strengths-based lens. She utilizes behavioral techniques such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Mindfulness. Based in New York City and New Jersey, Elizabeth is committed to providing a warm, neutral space to develop an open, trusting relationship as the groundwork for transformation.
About
As a high school social worker for ten years, Elizabeth has experience supporting clients and their families through life’s many stressors and challenges. Elizabeth’s therapeutic style is client-centered and collaborative. She views therapy as an act of mutually engaged exploration that helps the client make transformative change at a pace that feels right for them. Elizabeth received her Master’s Degree in Social Work at Columbia University School of Social Work, and a Bachelor’s Degree from Connecticut College. She is a certified yoga instructor and incorporates meditation, grounding techniques, and breath work into her sessions.
